Recently restored throughout, our traditional guest house opened its doors at the beginning of May 2014. Its quiet hillside location in the south of Grasse makes the perfect retreat, and with the added benefit of its close proximity to the roads it is ideal for exploring the region at your leisure. In the heart of a wooded, sunny clearing, we are sure you will be able to relax and enjoy the serenity of this beautiful part of the French Riviera.
Marianne and Olivier look forward to seeing you soon at La Cania.
Grasse, also known as the world perfume capital, is located within the Alpes-Maritimes region of the French Riviera. Built against a rock, the sun’s rays here are more forgiving than those of the seafront, and with the morning sea mist dispersing well before finding its way up to the town. The climate, very agreeable, provided the perfect setting for encouraging flower growth, from which a prospering perfume industry developed in the 18th century, and to this day the hillside floral blooms and delicate fragrance distillations continue to perfume the air. Allow yourself to be seduced by the history, nature, art and cuisine of this beautiful city, and should the bright lights of Cannes attract you, the iconic town of film and glamour is only a mere 12 km away.
The French Riviera is on the eastern part of the Mediterranean coast, and extends to the departments of Var, Alpes-Maritimes and the Principality of Monaco. Inland there is a rich tapestry of historic villages and towns located across the hills and valleys of which to visit, and there is no shortage of mountains to discover by walking, hiking, biking or mountain biking. Whether it be the sea or mountain, the buzz of the Cannes festival or the calm serenity of the regional parks, our region is able to captivate and charm you.
Grasse is located 12 km north of Cannes, 35 km northwest of Nice airport, and 40 km west of Nice.
A car is essential for exploring the region, however buses and trains (TER) go from Grasse to Nice and Cannes, and we can provide free transfers to TER station.
The main road Grasse-Cannes connects Grasse to the regional A8 highway in 10 minutes. La Cania is located 2 minutes driving from the entrance of this main road.
